OUR COTTAGE

Shoestring Cottage & The Cabin's origins date back to the 1700's, and were formerly two dwellings and from what we can tell have always been named as such. When they were both first built, one was a former fisherman's cabin store and the other a sail loft, but don't worry, they have been lovingly completely renovated since then and converted into one really unique home!
​
Today, it sleeps upto six very comfortably, with two double bedrooms and a twin, all with amazing views, as well as three newly refurbished modern bathrooms.
​
There is a large lounge, separate snug/dining room, a unique galley kitchen, with estuary views and a dual sided feature wood-burner for cosy nights in.
​
The Cabin master bedroom suite, which can be booked separately, for two people with the rest of the downstairs, with vaulted ceiling, victorian bathing, in a sumptuous bath, ensuite and
uninterrupted views from your very own private sun terrace/balcony, is simply breathtaking.

THE ESTUARY & LOCAL AREA
Lympstone estuary and harbour is situated directly on the stunning Jurassic coast, with ShoeString Cottage occupying an enviable position directly on the water's edge.
​
There are many lovely walks and cycle trails to enjoy from the cottage. Simply take the cycle and pedestrian paths to the neighbouring seaside town of Exmouth or further beyond.
​
Located very close by in the estuary, you will find the floating River Exe Cafe, open for lunch and dinner, accessible by boat, kayak or the passenger ferry, which runs from Exmouth harbour during the summer season.
​
Just a further three miles away is Woodbury Common, a place of stunning natural beauty.
​
Explore further afield on the local coastal railway and leave the car at home.
